Antique Wedgwood basalt basalt Bust of Democritus (c.460-370 BC, an antient Greek philosopher and the father of atomic theory) created by Anthony Keeling (1738-1815, a British potterer in Stoke-on-Trent) in the late 1770s (the first mention in the Wedgwood & Bentley catalog was in 1779) . Bust is in excellent used condition without any visible chips, cracks and repairs, only age appropriate ware.
