Description

Fine antique c. 19th C. gilt bronze bust of Ajax the Great, Greek mythological hero, and character in Homer’s Iliad. The statue has outstanding details, Ajax’s helmet is decorated with eagles and centaurs. Marked BLANPAIN under the base ( possibly a foundry mark or a clock maker from around Paris, c. 19th C. ) Condition: patina, some wear to gilt finish.
