This extremely high quality bronze, produced by the hot cast, lost wax technique is securely mounted on a solid marble base Dimensional Data The statue, overall, is 530 mm (20 3/4") high, & weighs 18,5 kgs ( 40,7 lbs) The rectangular marble base is 200 mm (8") wide x 150 mm (6") deep, x 80 mm (3 1/8") thick. General Socrates (469 - 399 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher from Athens, who was the founding figure of Western Philosophy His Socratic method and teachings laid the foundations for Western systems of logic and philosophy. He was unfortunately condemned to death for his beliefs. A magnificent bronze bust, with incredible detail, adding distinction as either a centrepiece, or main attraction to any dwelling.
